Begowalia commenced his directorial journey by guiding his school students in performances, quickly propelling the school team to a state level due to their exceptional talent. Following the success of his first book, he founded Punjab Kala Manch in Begowal, providing a platform for emerging talent. Here, new performers are encouraged to showcase their skills, with Begowalia emphasizing the importance of humor within defined limits. He firmly believes that Punjabi dramas, often laced with adult-themed comedy, should convey a message while entertaining the audience.
Begowalia's innovative drama techniques, including the use of one performer in multiple roles within the same play, have met with tremendous success. He not only directs his own plays but also works on productions written by other authors. His stage productions encompass Punjabi plays, cultural songs, choreography, and traditional Punjabi folk dances. Many of the artists under his guidance have transitioned to theater and screenplay.
Central to Begowalia's vision is the goal of conducting stage programs in diverse locations for varied audiences, aiming to disseminate awareness on a broad scale. Through his unique approach to drama and performance, Begowalia continues to make a significant impact on Punjabi cultural representation.
